ZOEVA | Classic Eye Set

As mentioned in my video, I will be doing a run down on the brushes with close up photos of each brush.

The brushes came with this draw string bag.

Leather like case to hold the brushes

The inside of the case it comes in

This set contains 6 eye brushes

Here's a closer look at each individual Brush

227 - Luxe Soft Definer

234 - Luxe Smokey Shader

231 - Luxe Petit Crease

317 - Wing Liner

315- Fine Liner

322 - Brow Liner

Overall, These brushes (aside from Brow & Wing Liner) appear to be very soft which will be great for blending and applying eyeshadow.

I have used them a couple of times and really like them. I can do a review on them if anyone is interested.

I will most definitely try some more Zoeva brushes!

If you are interested in watching my haul I'll leave the link Here

HAUL | Luxola

I'm sure most of you have heard of the site Luxola.
They sell brands such as Sleek MakeUp, Sigma Beauty, Zoeva, Alpha H etc, just to name a few.

I had heard of them from YouTube and I saw that they were having a Flash Sale of 35% off, so I couldn't resist but give them a go. I'm always a bit hesitant when it comes to new sites, ut they accept PayPal so it was ok.

I didn't buy a whole lot of stuff as I like to try keep it to a minimum first when it's my first order from any site.

Shipping was great and was free cause I spent over $40, It took 5 days to get here, including the weekend which is a very reasonably time.

 My Haul came to a little over $50

ZOEVA - 226 Smudger Brush

SLEEK MAKEUP - Oh So Special Palette

SLEEK MAKEUP - Blush by 3 in Lace

I will definitely be buying from them again as I always see promotional codes available and I'm quite pleased with the service.

This is also my first time trying Zoeva & Sleek so I am excited for that too :)

I also filmed a video on this haul if you would like to check it out :)

Have a great day

SWATCHES & OVERVIEW | Australis AC on Tour - Contouring & Highlighting Kit

For all you Aussie beauty lovers out there, you have probably seen this exciting palette that Australis has recently released. It's exciting because there is nothing else like it available in the Australian drugstores and with Contouring & Highlighting being such a big part of make-up routines, It's great to see a product come out that's got a variety of shades all in one, but the best part is that it's affordable! I got mine for $16.95 at Priceline.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting to pick this up, purely because I have been in a few Priceline's but I have never seen it in store, most likely cause it's been sold out. I was lucky enough to come across a store, that had 3 in stock. Naturally, I had to grab one.

The palette comes in a black plastic container, much similar to any other affordable black palettes.

 Australis has provided an informative step by step application method on the back of the palette, which I think is quite useful, especially for those who are fairly new to highlighting and contouring.

This palette consists of 3 highlighters and 3 Bronzers.

The 1st highlighter is a matte, cream coloured powder.
The 2nd is also matte, but more of a yellow based powder.
The 3rd highlighter is the only one with a slight shimmer in it.

 Highlighters without flash

Bronzers without flash
Bronzers with flash

All these bronzers are matte, of course, since it's a contouring kit.
The 1st bronzer is a dark brown colour.
The 2nd bronzer is a more dark taupe shade.
The 3rd bronzer appears to have the more red/orange undertone.

The texture of these powders are really soft and buttery, which is great because it makes blending out the bronzer much easier, if you have accidentally put too much on.

I definitely this it's a great product to try and I am excited to keep playing around with it.
I've also seen/heard that it's similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills palette too.

Let me know what you think about this palette if you have picked it up.

Update

Hey Everyone,

I know it's been a while since I've blogged but I've had a lot going on. I've also felt like because of my blog name it's restricted me to just Beauty and Fashion posts where I would like to expand to lifestyle, health, home decor etc etc.

I think I may change my name? Hmmm I mean, I would probably keep my URL the same as that's where I started and even though I don't have that many followers, I do get frequent page views.

I'm also thinking of starting YouTube (after 6 yrs of being too scared)

Let me know what you think!

Priceline 40% off Skincare Haul

I haven't purchased any new skincare in a while now, So when I heard Priceline was having their 2 day, 40% off sale I did some damage cause I have run out of quite a few products, which you may have seen in my empties post.

Ever since graduating as a Beauty Therapist in 2010, I have always been picky with the skincare that I use & have stuck to mainly salon brands since then. There are so many new products on the market, with competitors constantly improving the quality of their products, so there were quite a few items that I wanted to try out.
Day 1 Haul

Day 2 Haul
(Yes, I couldn't help it, there was a day 2)

I'll give you a run down on what I bought & how much I paid.

I wanted to try some La Roche-Posay items so I did some research on what would best suit my skin concerns. I picked up the;

Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel - $22.99 --> $13.79
Eau Thermale Spring Water - $22.99 --> $13.79
Effaclar Duo - $27.99 -->$16.79

Australia recently received L'oreal's new Skin Perfection Range which targets your Pores, Tone & Texture. Something I definitely need work with so I'm keen to try these out. I only got 2 of the items to try out first.

Skin Perfection Correcting Day Moisturiser - $24.99 --> $14.99
Magic Touch Instant Blur - $22.99 --> $13.79, Which is supposedly similar to Benefit's Porefessional

The only thing I haven't tried in this Photo is the Witch Hazel which I've heard alot about, the other Neutrogena products, are my 2 favourite products from their range, Which is why I bought back ups.

Witch Hazel - $6.59 --> $3.95
Cleansing Towelettes - $7.99 --> $4.79
Hand Cream - $7.49 -->$4.49

Both the Pure Active BB cream & the oil infused Beauty scrub are new products to Garnier's range so I wanted to try them out. I'm keen to try the BB cream out, but I'm usually too dark for "Medium". The Eye makeup remover is my HG, which was also featured in my empties post.

BB Cream - $13.99 --> $8.39
Clean Sensitive Remover - $9.99 -->$5.99
Body Scrub - $11.99 --> $7.19

I did end up getting quite abit, but like I said, I needed new skincare and it was such a great saving that it made it all worth it. This is basically going to be my new skincare routine, with a few other products I am currently using. I will most likely be doing a skincare routine post in a months time to let you all know how I am liking the products.

If you have tried any of these, please let me know what you think. Did you pick anything up at Priceline's sale? Or what skincare items have you been loving lately?

I'd love to hear what you guys recommend.

Talk to you in my next post :)

My Product Empties

Recently, I've realised that I have come to, or am coming to the end of a few of my products. I thought I would do a post on my "empties" and give you a run down on what I think about them, as I am planning to try reach out and try different items for a change.

Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser:
I have combination/oily skin, I absolutely love using this cleanser, and I have for about 4 years now. It does the job of removing your makeup and also leaving your skin nice and clean. I like that I can close my eyes and rub this all over my face as it'll remove my mascara too, without irritating my eyes. Definitely would repurchase this, In fact I have many times.

Garnier Clean Sensitive Eye Make-Up Remover:
Another favourite product of mine that I am always repurchasing. It's a two part cleanser that removes even waterproof mascara really well. I am waiting for a sale to buy this again!

Beauty Essential Make-Up Remover wipes with Vitamin E:
I am usually pretty picky with what type of wipes I use on my far, especially cheap ones. I bought these one day as I forgot to bring some with me (I was going o the gym after work), they were on sale for $1.99. They aren't bad, but not great. The only time I'd buy them is if there were on 1/2 price  again

MAC Prep & Prime Translucent Powder:
I use this nearly every time I do my make-up. It sets my foundation well and keeps me pretty Matte during the day. Would repurchase this, In fact, I already had a back up :)

Garnier Refreshing Make-Up RemoverWipes:
This is a fairly new product. I like these better then the Beauty Essential ones. It has the textured wipe which helps clean the make-up off more. I would prefer them to be more moist though. I probably wouldn't buy them again. (I had a coupon for these originally)

Alpha-H Micro Cleanse:
Another product that I have been using for 4 years. My absolute favourite face scrub. (Old packaging of travel size shown) I already have 2 full size Micro Cleanse on back up, Need I say more?

Batiste Dry Shampoo Tropical:
My absolute favourite dry shampoo. I always have these on back up. I have black hair and I am not left with a white/grey residue.

Like I said, I came to the end of quite a few favourites, & basically a whole Skin Care Regime. I will be buying more items soon but I just need to do some more research first as I want to try new things & I am pretty picky with what goes on my skin.

I had a few more empties than this but I accidentally threw them out. Eek

If you have any suggestions for oily, enlarged pores & problematic skin, I would love to hear what you guys recommend!

Hope you all have a lovely day! xx

Essence Oil Control Make-Up Base Review & Comparison

I have been using the NARS Pro Prime Pore Refining Primer for quite a few months now and I'm just about out of it. I was tossing up whether or not I wanted to repurchasing it because of the price.

Around the same time, Essence came out with a new "Oil Control Make-Up Base" which claims to be "Pore Refining and Long lasting" as well. I was a little hesitant to try it because, although I love Essence, I was never really sure about using their face products. I decided to go ahead and get it anyway since it was only $5.75.

The consistency for both are very similar, both a white gel texture.

I applied a thin layer of the primer on top of my moisturizer, It absorbs pretty quick and doesn't give a greasy or sticky feeling.

I found that it did help refine the appearance of pores once I put my foundation on.

I was always quite impressed because, being an oily skin girl, after a few hours where my skin would usually be oily, My foundation actually looked as good as it did when I first applied it.

After using this for a couple of weeks, I haven't broken out or anything from it which is always a good sign.

I highly recommend trying this product if you wanted something similar (If not more effective...shhh) Then the Nars Primer, considering it's basically 1/10th of the price here in Australia.

I definitely give it my 2 thumbs up!

L'oreal Colour Riche Moisture Matte Lipstick Review: Glamor Fuchsia & Red Valentine

Are you one, who likes the finish & longevity of matte lipsticks but hate the dry feeling and application of them?

This range of lipsticks may interest you.

Earlier this year L'oreal came out with their Moisture Matte lipsticks. I was very interested in trying these out as I am a fan of Matte lipsticks (but ones that aren't too drying). I was lucky enough to be one of the first people at my local store to try their tester, since they were new i applied them straight to my lips. I absolutely loved them. But I was too indecisive on the colours and didn't want to pay $21.95 at the time.

The application was smooth. It didn't drag along my lips and accentuate the dryness of them which is never a good look. These lipsticks contain Jojoba oil which assist with the moisture side of the lipstick.

I quite liked the finish as it appeared Matte, without looking dry (thanks to the jojoba oil) and lipsticks last quite a long time. I did find that I had to touch up after eating, which is quite standar for most lipsticks anyway.

Here in Australia we have 8 shades available. I picked up two of them.

Glamor Fuchsia & Red Valentine

Swatches taken with flash on

These lipsticks retail at $21.95, but Priceline currently has a Buy 1 get 1 free offer on all lip products which ends on the 11th May. It's the best time to get them as I find it's hard to get L'oreal for a good price here.

I definitely recommend them and I will most likely be purchasing more colours!

Review: Rimmel Matte BB Cream 9 in 1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup

For anyone who lives in Australia with a skin tone that's anywhere near a MAC NC42, I'm sure you know how difficult it is to find a BB cream that's anywhere near dark enough, especially for a decent price.

Rimmel recently came out with a Matte version of their BB cream which claims to do 9 things.

  1. Minimises the Appearance of Pores
  2. Evens Skin Tine
  3. Mattifies
  4. Controls Shine All Day
  5. Smoothes
  6. Soothes
  7. Conceals Dark Circles
  8. Helps Prevent Blemishes
  9. Gives all day coverage
(Facts copied from the back of the packaging)

This BB cream contains 30mls of product at the rrp price of $12.99
I purchased this BB cream in a Medium/Dark which worked pretty well for my NC42 skin.

I was hesitant to try this because of my past experiences with a now discontinued Rimmel foundation, though after seeing that the colour was dark enough for my skin, I decided to give it a go.

For a BB cream, it actually gave decent coverage and as it states, it is also Matte, but not so much that my skin looked dry. Now I have pretty oily skin, so Unfortunately this didn't "control shine all day".
I usually use the Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation but decided to wear this one day instead. I asked my co-worker what she thought about my makeup and if she liked it (without telling her what I was wearing). She said that the coverage was quite good and it looked more natural to what I usually wore, which is exactly what I thought.

What I like about it:
  • Colour is dark enough for Anyone who's around an NC42
  • Decent Coverage
  • Matte Coverage without looking dry
  • Doesn't start separating on face after a few hours
  • Controls shine for most of the day
  • Easy to apply
  • Evens out skin tone
  • The consistency isn't too thick, but also isn't as runny as the Garnier bb cream
I can't really say much for if it really prevents blemishes or not, but that's what Rimmel claims.

Overall it is a pretty decent product especially for the price of. You can always fine it cheaper, I was lucky enough to get mine from a pharmacy for only $5.99.

Have you tried this yet? If so, what do you think about it?

Hi Everyone,

As you may or may not already heard, A couple of days ago, Kmart added something very exciting to their shelves!

It looks a little bit like this...

Yes! We now have (some) Eyes Lips Face products available to us in Australia! First NYX in Target now ELF in Kmart. Of course the prices are a lot higher but for easy access, they are still a good price.

I'm not too sure if they will bring in more products but it is definitely a good start! Prices range from $3 - $12.

I picked up a couple of items, of course.

Mechanical Eyelash Curler $3: One of my favourite Eye lash curlers. I'm so glad they brought this over.

Studio Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose $8: I have the red one and wanted to try this one out but at the time when I was buying it online it had sold out. They had about 5 different shades in this product!

Good Work Kmart!
